NSW Blues set 204-run target for RCB in CLT20 semis

Bangalore, Oct 7 (IANS) A defiant New South Wales Blues (NSW) set a target of 204 runs for home team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first semi-final of the ICC Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) at the Chinnaswamy stadium here.

Put to bat first, the Blues made 203 for two wickets after their dashing opener David Warner hammered the RCB bowlers to register his second century in the tournament with 11 massive sixes and six fours in 68 balls.

He registered a record second wicket partnership of 146 in 87 balls with Daniel Smith, who hit a breezy 62 in 42 balls with three sixes and seven fours.

For RCB, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Sreenath Arvind shared the two wickets that fell in the Blues’ innings. The Sri Lankan all-rounder conceded only 10 runs in his stipulated four overs, while Arvind gave away maximum runs of 55.
