Now Star Plus shows same day, same time across globe
July 8th, 2011 - 2:31 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, July 8 (IANS) Whether you’re in New Delhi or New York - viewers in more than 65 countries can now watch all Hindi shows of general entertainment channel Star Plus on the same day with English subtitles.
This is a departure from an era when viewers had to watch time-lag deferred content.
Star Plus is catering to viewers in cities like New Delhi, Dubai, Johannesburg, London and New York.
“This is a significant milestone. The appeal of Star content will be even more compelling once the viewers in India and their dear ones overseas can watch it together. We are confident that it will create an important point of engagement and interaction between our viewers in India and overseas,” Uday Shankar, CEO, STAR India, said in a statement.
With real time subtitling of content, the channel hopes to tap a large number of third and fourth generation Indians and South Asians, who may not speak or understand Hindi, for its shows.
“It is our attempt of connecting hearts and bridging time and distance for our
viewers, overseas, who yearn for a home away from-home experience. They can now stay
connected and bond discussing storylines and favorite shows,” added Shankar.
This initiative is in tune with Star Plus’ motto of “Rishta Wahi, Soch Nayi” by entertaining its viewers, wherever they may be.
