Now degree with diploma in Tamil Nadu
February 10th, 2010 - 5:43 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chennai, Feb 10 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu government Wednesday launched a scheme whereby students can pursue simultaneously a diploma in a vocational stream apart from their basic degree course.
A total of 3,571 students have enrolled themselves under the educational scheme in various courses.
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi wished them luck while launching the scheme, which will help in increasing the employment opportunities of arts and science graduates studying in government colleges.
The students will have a diploma or certificate in a vocational course like multimedia, air conditioning technology, web designing, animation and beautician apart from their arts/science degree on passing out from college.
As per the scheme, which will be implemented from the ensuing academic year, the government has attached some polytechnic colleges with diploma courses to its colleges.
