Islamabad, May 5 (IANS) It is not true that the Pakistan-US relations are at the lowest point following the dramatic raid by US commandos at Abbottabad to kill Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, said Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir.

Salman Bashir told reporters that the perception of the relationship being at the lowest point is not true.

He said: “Diplomatic process is gaining momentum and speed. We would like to look at the significance of the US-Pakistan relations.”

Osama was shot dead May 2 deep inside Pakistan, leaving Islamabad red-faced.

The foreign secretary stressed that “we have cooperated with US”.

“I think the Pakistan-US relations are moving in the right direction. This cooperation is based on certain parameters and red lines. Cooperation is important.”
