Nominations of main candidates in Kadapa in order
April 19th, 2011 - 10:02 pm ICT by IANSHyderabad, April 19 (IANS) The authorities rejected nominations of 13 candidates for May 8 byelection to the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.
Kadapa district collector and returning officer Shashibhushan Kumar found 43 nominations in order.
These include papers of the main candidates Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress party, D.L. Ravinder Reddy of the Congress and M.V. Mysoora Reddy of Telugu Desam Party.
The returning officer turned down the demand of TDP to reject the nomination of Jaganmohan Reddy for allegedly suppressing information about his assets.
The TDP alleged that the former MP did not mention his Hyderabad and Bangalore houses in the affidavit filed by him.
In Pulivendula assembly constituency, which is also going to the polls the same day, the returning officer rejected five nominations.
The nominations of main candidates including YSR Congress party’s Y.S. Vijayalakshmi and Congress party’s Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy were found to be in order.
Both Jaganmohan Reddy and his mother Vijayalakshmi are seeking re-election. They quit their seats and the Congress in November last year.
Jagan, son of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, floated the YSR Congress last month.
