Noida house burgled, lakhs missing
July 13th, 2011 - 11:52 am ICT by IANSNoida, July 13 (IANS) Burglars decamped with Rs.35 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs.50 lakh from the house of an IT professional here, police said Wednesday.
The incident took place late Tuesday in Sector 29 of this suburban town adjoining the Indian capital, Deputy Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said.
When Kamal Singh Chauhan returned home at 9.45 p.m., he found the main door of his house half opened and the mesh wires cut. As he entered inside, he found the entire house ransacked, Srivastava said.
“The family is preparing an estimate of the stolen items which could be much higher. We are looking into the issue,” he said.
