No restrictions on celebrating festivals during Games
August 17th, 2010 - 7:42 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) No restrictions have been imposed on organising religious events during the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games, parliament was told Tuesday
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mullappally Ramachandran, however, said that in view of the commitments of the police force before and during the Games, permissions for conducting fairs are being granted only after Oct 15.
He also assured the Lok Sabha that all necessary law and order arrangements will be made by Delhi Police for smooth conduct of events during the festival season.
