No lessons learnt from past Mumbai strikes: Mulayam
July 14th, 2011 - 9:08 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, July 14 (IANS) Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said Thursday the triple blasts in Mumbai clearly revealed that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government had not learnt any lessons from the terror strikes that had rocked the city in the past.
“Internal and external security threat to the country is on a rise. It’s unfortunate and sad that the central and the Maharashtra governments have not taken any lesson from the past terror strikes in Mumbai,” Yadav said in a statement issued here Thursday evening.
He said it was high time for the central government to come up with a comprehensive plan to counter terror attacks and ensure the incidents like Wednesday’s serial blasts in Mumbai were not repeated in any part of the country.
“The terrors strikes are acts of cowardice aimed to disintegrate us. We all need to stand united as secularism can only safeguard our unity in diversity on such occasions,” added Yadav, appealing to the people to make efforts for establishing peace and tranquility in the country.
