Chennai, July 13 (IANS) Godman Nityananda, who was avoiding the media glare for long following the telecast of steamy scenes with actor Ranjitha, Wednesday charged Sun TV and Tamil magazine Nakkheeran of blackmail and claimed the videos were doctored.

Speaking to reporters here after lodging a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner J.K.Tripathy for action against Sun TV and Nakkheeran for airing the morped videos involving Ranjitha and himself, Nityananda hoped the police would take action fast.

He charged Sun TV and Nakkheeran of blackmail to part with cash and land.

Answering questions, Nityananda said the room that was shown in the videos was not his and the videos were morphed.

He also accused Sun Pictures Chief Operating Officer Hans Raj Saxena of threatening him.

Nityananda charged that Nakkheeran made a huge money by uploading the sleazy videos on its website.

He said the attack on his ashram in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry after the telecast was an attack on Hinduism and the vandals damaged Shivlings in the premises.

Nityananda began the media conference by congratulating Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on her victory and assuming office for third time.

Office bearers of his ashram, advocates, disciples and Ranjitha were present at the conference.

Last year Sun TV telecast a steamy video purportedly involving Nityanandia and Ranjitha which resulted in pubic fury against his ashram.

Complaints were lodged against Nityananda and the ashram.
