Nine-year-old crushed to death
July 23rd, 2011 - 12:59 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 22 (IANS) A nine-year-old girl was killed and her sister injured after a speeding tanker hit them in west Delhi, police said Friday.
“Neha was killed and her sister, Rinki, 6, suffered head injuries. The accident occurred as Manish, their cousin, was taking them riding them on the bicycles to their school from their home at Najafgarh area,” said a police officer.
The oil tanker driver lost control of his vehicle and hit their bicycle. “Neha was crushed under the tyres of the truck and was killed on the spot while her sibling and cousin were injured. They were admitted to a Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital,” said a police.
Police have impounded the tanker and are trying to trace the drive who fled after the incident.
