Nine people killed in factory fire
April 28th, 2011 - 7:57 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 28 (IANS) Nine people were burnt to death in a massive fire at a plastic goods factory in west Delhi, police said Thursday.
Nine charred bodies were pulled out from the factory at Udyog Nagar in Peeragarhi area in west Delhi Wednesday night. The fire broke out at 7.10 p.m.
“Twenty-four fire tenders were rushed to douse the flames,” a fire brigade official said.
“It took almost 12 hours for firefighters to douse the flames. At around 7 a.m. in the morning the fire was brought under control,” said the official.
“Nine bodies are recovered from the debris so far. The fire brigade team is still there,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan.
The official said they are still to identify the the victims.
