Nine of wedding party electrocuted in Uttra Pradesh
April 28th, 2010 - 9:16 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, April 28 (IANS) At least nine people of a wedding party were electrocuted and 16 others received burns after a high-tension wire fell upon a tractor-trolley carrying them in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district Wednesday, police said.The mishap took place in Narayanpur area in the district, some 300 km from Lucknow, killing nine people.
“Of the 16 injured, the condition of eight is critical. All the injured are being treated in the district hospital,” deputy superintendent of police Radha Krishna told reporters in Mirzapur.
At the time of accident, there were around 26 people on the tractor-trolley. They were returning from a wedding in Sonbhadra district.
