Nine die in Bengal accident
September 5th, 2010 - 2:28 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Sep 5 (IANS) At least nine people were killed and six injured Sunday when a truck collided with a smaller vehicle in West Bengal’s Malda district Sunday. All the injured are in critical condition.
The victims were passengers in the smaller vehicle, known locally as trekker.
“Seven people died on the spot. One died in hospital,” Malda district magistrate Promal Samanta told IANS over telephone. The accident occurred on National Highway 34 in Kaluadighi area.
