Nine die as trucks collide in Uttar Pradesh
July 15th, 2011 - 11:19 am ICT by IANSMahamaya Nagar (Uttar Pradesh), July 15 (IANS) Nine people were killed and five injured when a truck carrying them was hit by another truck in Uttar Pradesh, police said Friday.
The accident took place late Thursday when a truck in Hasayan area rammed into another truck, said Police Inspector D.K. Dubey.
“While three people died on the spot, the remaining six died later when they were being taken to a hospital,” he told reporters here, 300 km from Lucknow.
While one of the two drivers is injured, the other is absconding, he added.
