Nine dead in Nepal road accident
May 6th, 2012 - 3:31 pm ICT by IANSKathmandu, May 6 (IANS) At least nine people were killed in a road accident Sunday in Nepal’s Kaski district where an avalanche-triggered flood has created havoc since Saturday, local media reported.
Sunday’s accident occurred after a jeep skidded off a mountainous road and fell some 300 metres below, reported Xinhua.
The injured passengers, who are in critical condition, were rushed to hospital in Pokhara, some 200 km from capital city Kathmandu.
Meanwhile, at least 15 people died and dozens of others were still missing following an avalanche in the country’ Annapurna range Saturday which triggered a massive flood in the Seti river.
