NHRC to join facebook, twitter
July 15th, 2011 - 9:57 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 15 (IANS) In an attempt to get more interactive and spread awareness about its work, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will soon join the social network in the virtual world of facebook and twitter.
“We want to reach out to more people so there are plans to join platforms like facebook and twitter,” Satyabrata Pal, NHRC member, said Friday.
“More people know about the NHRC now than before… we get about 400 complaints everyday. But there is an attempt to get more interactive. So we are still working that out,” he added.
The apex human rights body of the country, NHRC is a recommendatory body set up in 1993.
