NHRC DIG awarded President’s Police Medal
January 25th, 2012 - 6:08 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) National Human Rights Commission deputy inspector general (Investigation) Mamta Singh was Wednesday named for the President’s Police Medal for her meritorious services.
Singh, a 1996 batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre, joined NHRC in November 2005 and was part of several investigations carried out by the investigation division of NHRC.
Singh was part of the probes on human rights violations in Nandigram violence in West Bengal and Salwa Judum in Chhattisgarh.
She has also been one of the members of the drafting committee on National Policy on Prison Reforms and Correctional Administration constituted by the union Home Ministry.
