New Madhya Pradesh governor sworn-in
September 8th, 2011 - 7:53 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Sep 8 (IANS) Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Ramnaresh Yadav was Thursday sworn-in as the 25th governor of Madhya Pradesh.
Yadav, 83, succeeds Rameshwar Thakur, whose tenure ended Sep 7.
The mew governor was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Madhya Pradesh High Court’s acting Chief Justice Sushil Harkohli at Raj Bhavan here.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Congress’s Uttar Pradesh president Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Yadav’s wife Shanti Devi were present at the ceremony.
Yadav was Uttar Pradesh chief minister 1977-79.
