Nepali national held for ISI links
June 5th, 2011 - 11:10 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, June 5 (IANS) A Nepali national working for an agent of Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for circulating counterfeit currency notes in India has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, police said Sunday.
Manzoor Mian was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Shastri Nagar late Saturday, said a press release issued by the state police.
“Manzoor Mian was in touch with ISI agent Mohammad Saifi, who till now has supplied him fake currency notes worth Rs.1.5 crore for circulation in different parts of the country,” the release said.
“Fake currency notes worth Rs.25,000 were recovered from Manzoor’s possession,” it added.
