Chennai, Feb 13 (IANS) Perhaps Sri Rama Sena chief Pramod Mutalik’s threat of marrying off lovers on Valentine’s Day has become easier, as nearly 46 percent of people surveyed prefer getting married to their love on V-Day.
As per a dip stick survey conducted by leading matrimony portal BharatMatrimony among 536 people in the age group of 19-28 in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore, nearly half were in favour of tying the nuptial knot on Feb 14.
The survey also showed that 69 percent feel that V-Day can be celebrated with their beloved ones while 31 percent said such celebrations are not appropriate for Indian culture.
On the best way to celebrate, 24 percent preferred a candle light dinner and gifts while 23 percent said they would do it in their own way.
Fourteen percent opined that they would propose to their love, while eight percent of the respondents said they would go for a long drive.
For some, V-Day has become a costly proposition over the years while 43 percent said that nothing has changed for them.
