NDA allies to meet, decide strategy for Parliament’s winter session

New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS) A day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani called for ouster of the Congress-led government, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders will meet Monday evening to finalise the strategy for the winter session of parliament beginning Tuesday.
The meeting, which is to be held at Advani’s house, will also finalise the declaration to be given by NDA members stating they have no illegitimate assets or accounts abroad.
BJP MPs also met at Advani’s house Monday.
Advani, at his rally Sunday, said all NDA members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will submit a declaration to their presiding officer stating: “I solemnly declare that I do not have a bank account or asset, illegally held outside India.”
The move comes as the opposition has been pressurising the government to declare the names of account holders given to the government by HSBC Bank, Switzerland. There has been speculation that the names of some MPs figure in the list.
Apart from black money, the opposition is also focusing on cornering the government on the issue of price rise, corruption and various scams.
The winter session of parliament is expected to be tumultuous as sources from the BJP say attempts will be made to establish coordination with other opposition parties after the NDA finalises its strategy.
Communist Party of India leader A.B. Bardhan had already Sunday said the Left will move an adjournment motion on price rise.
