National Wrestling Championship from Oct 14
October 5th, 2011 - 6:36 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 5 (IANS) The 56th Senior Free Style, Greco Roman Style, and 14th Female National Wrestling Championships will be held at Nandini Nagar, in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, Oct 14-16.
The Championship will be hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association. Union Sports minister Ajay Maken will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony Oct 16.
This is the last senior Wrestling National Championship before the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The Selection Committee of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) will select the wrestlers for the national coaching camps for preparation for the Olympic Games during the Championship.
All the affiliated units/boards of WFI have confirmed their participation. The weigh-in will be held Oct 13.
Doordarshan will telecast live the competitions on all three days.
