Narcotics officials caught accepting bribe
July 23rd, 2010 - 1:29 am ICT by IANSLucknow, July 22 (IANS) A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team Thursday caught red-handed two officials of the Lucknow zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) while accepting Rs. 2 lakh bribe, sources said.
Superintendent Narcotics Diwakar Tripathi and a clerk, Rajiv Singh were nabbed Thursday evening by CBI from the NCB office in Mahanagar area.
According to sources, the narcotics officials were nabbed while they were taking the money from the family of Haneef, who was caught with psychotropic substances in the state’s Barabanki district.
Even as the CBI officials remained tight lipped over the entire issue, sources said the two narcotics officials were being interrogated by CBI.
