Ranchi, May 1 (IANS) The University of Ranchi Thursday hurriedly cancelled its post-graduation history paper after thousands of Muslims took to the streets protesting against a reference to Prophet Mohammed they said was derogatory. “A five-member committee has been constituted (to probe) the question paper. The examination has been cancelled,” Vice Chancellor A.H. Khan announced, shortly after his meeting with Chief Minister Madhu Koda.
The question in the history paper referred to Prophet Mohammed’s life. The examination took place Wednesday.
On Thursday, Muslim organisations organised a march and ransacked the university office to protest against the offending question. The police used force to control the mob.
The university then held an emergency meeting of its top officials.
Chief Minister Koda said: “We have asked the vice chancellor to probe the matter and take suitable action against the person who prepared the question. We appeal to people to maintain calm.”

You’ve got to be kidding me. Worldwide tantrums seem to be the norm for Muslims.

“. . . action against the person who prepared the question. . .” ?!? So if I can organize a violent protest, I can get a test banned AND get the instructor sanctioned? Cool…
( Doh! forgot this only works if you are Muslim…)

What…. did the question ask why millions of people want to blow themselves up for the pedophile known as the Prophet Mohommed? I mean one of his wives was 4 years old.

Oh, for heaven’s sake. (Literally.)
This has got to be my latest argument for why, regardless of whether any other religion can claim to be partly or wholly true, Islam has got to be false.
One would expect an encounter with transcendent truth to mature a person, generating in them a love of truth, humility, compassion for the wounds of others, patience with their own wounds, and the ability to correctly prioritize that which is important in life.
Islam, apparently, grants the believer a thin skin, a brain incapable of linear reasoning, an overstimulated sense of wounded pride, a suspicion of anyone who is different from you, and a predisposition to forming lynch mobs.
This, fortunately, is not universal. Thank heaven for those few culturally-Islamic persons who, by skipping over the “crazy bits” in orthodox Islam, have learned to live responsibly and peaceably in the West. I admire their ability to overcome that cultural handicap and become productive members of society.
I wish they were all that way. But they aren’t, and apparently their kids (what an odd form of rebellion!) tend to be more orthodox than they. And screeching rioters and scimitar-waving clerics are the result. Welcome to the World of Islam.
Religion of peace, my…donkey.

At one time I respected Muslims and had a friend from Pakistan who was a devout believer, but now I wouldn’t let one in the door. I think they are all insane - and don’t talk about “moderate” Muslims: there is no such thing.

I quote the above from “RC - #4″ only to make this comment. It’s interesting that the average person naturally thinks of this operation of “transcendent truth” often without connecting it to Jesus Christ - yet that same person rails against any reference to Christianity!

Please allow me to add that I have no idea nor any reference to the thoughts of “RC - #4″; my point remains that we want this process with no connection to its Author.

We often want the process without the Author - only intelligence comes up with this development, not random chance.

I doubt that poser wannabe Mowhatever needs a bunch of losers to defend his life history…then again!
Too bad “he” wasn’t a suicide bomber, might’ve did the world a big favor!!!

hmmm.. world riot over an exam question about Mohammed ? I wonder what would happen if they found out that Mohammed was actually a woman. I bet they would commit mass suicide. Probably not a bad thing, perhaps I should make a cartoon of it.

Actually KC she, Aisha was 6 and he did what is called, by Arabs, tahrirolvasyleh to her until she was 9 then he did it the regular way. You have to wonder about a culture that has word for the activity of an adult male to pleasure himself with a prepubescent child. They are even allowed by their religion to damage girl children as young as 3 if they pay for her upkeep.

Notice how the writer/editor/publisher lack the timerity to repeat the question.

Wow! It certainly seems that we have narrowed down the list of religions that can be attacked, ridiculed, and maligned with impunity to only Christianity. Whew! Tolerance surely is growing, isn’t it.
