New Delhi/Ranchi, July 26 (IANS) Former chief minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren could land in trouble in the murder case of his personal secretary Shashinath Jha after the Supreme Court Monday admitted an appeal against his acquittal.
But an unfazed Soren told reporters Monday that he would fight the legal battle and there was nothing to worry.

“I will reply in the Supreme Court. There is no need to worry,” he told reporters in Bokaro.

The Supreme Court Monday admitted a petition against Soren’s acquittal by the Delhi High Court in 2008 in the alleged murder of his personal secretary Shashinath Jha in 2004.

Jha went missing in 1994 and the family members charged Soren for his murder.

A Tis Hazari court in New Delhi in 2006 convicted Soren for the murder and awarded him life term. Soren was acquitted by the Delhi High Court in 2007.

Jha’s family appealed in the apex court and the case petition was admitted for hearing Monday.

The apex court bench of Justice Altamas Kabir and Justice A.K. Patnaik admitted the petition soon after it was called.
