Mumbai police busts sex racket

Mumbai, Dec 21 (IANS) Mumbai police Wednesday busted a sex racket and rescued six girls being sent abroad for trafficking, an official said.

“Acting on a tip off, we rescued six girls being sent to Dubai for sex trade from Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport. We have also arrested their agent,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Enforcement) B. G. Shekhar told IANS.

“Assistant Commissioner of Police Vasant Dobale had been following the case closely and hence we have been successful in this fight against human trafficking,” he added.

The girls were rescued before they were to board a flight to the Gulf where they were slated to work at a high profile Dubai bar.
