Amritsar, July 29 (IANS) A girl from Mumbai, who came to this Sikh holy city last week, Tuesday complained to the police that she was gang-raped by three staffers of a hotel near the Golden Temple complex. The victim alleged that she was putting up in a low-budget hotel, Seven Seas, near the Golden Temple complex. She claimed that the hotel owner Amarjit Singh, his manager and a third worker lured her and raped her repeatedly.

Police officials at the Galliara police post confirmed that they had received the complaint from the victim and were getting her medically examined.

The hotel owner and the manager had been taken into custody following the complaint.

The victim said that she had come here with friends last week. She said that while her friends returned, she preferred to stay back to see a few other places of religious and historical importance.

“We are investigating the matter and a case would be registered after the medical report of the victim comes,” a Punjab police officer said.
