Mumbai, July 22 (IANS) A high alert has been sounded at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport following the threat of a terrorist attack, a top airport official said Friday.

Since Thursday night, security measures have been implemented by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, the Central Industrial Security Force, the Mumbai International Airport Ltd and all the private and government airlines, the official, requesting anonymity, told IANS.

The central alert has indicated the possibility of a terror attack using Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) or some other chemicals and advised the concerned authorities to be on their guard.
