Muggy weekend in store for Delhi

New Delhi, July 22 (IANS) It was yet another hot and humid day in the capital Friday with the Met office predicting similar weather conditions for the next few days.

The maximum temperature was 35.2 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, while the minimum settled at 27.6 degrees — one notch above average.

The humidity wavered between a high of 86 percent and a low of 61 percent.

“The hot and muggy weather is likely to continue for three-four days,” said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The capital has recorded 130.8 mm rainfall so far this season which is 36 percent less than average.

“The sky will be generally cloudy and there is a possibility of one or two rain spells tomorrow (Saturday),” added the official.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may settle at 28 degrees.
