Muggy weekend in Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) The rains eluded the capital yet again with Delhi residents witnessing another hot and muggy day Saturday.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, a notch below average, while the minimum temperature settled at 27.9 degrees Celsius, one notch above average.

No rain was recorded between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. and the humidity remained between a high of 85 percent and a low of 63 percent.

“A total of 138.8 mm rainfall has been recorded so far this season which is 39 percent less than the average,” said an India Meteorological Department official.

“The sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday and there is a possibility of lightning later in the day,” added the official.

The maximum and minimum temperature are expected to hover around 33 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
