Muggy day in Delhi, rains expected Sunday (Lead)
July 30th, 2011 - 8:51 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 30 (IANS) Delhi residents witnessed a muggy Saturday, with the maximum temperature a notch above average and humidity at uncomfortably high levels. Sunday could bring some welcome rain, teh weather office said.
The maximum temperature Saturday was 34.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 27.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below the average for this time of the season.
Humidity wavered between a high of 92 and a low of 65 percent.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Sunday will witness similar weather but could have a few spells of rain.
“The sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday and a few spells of rains are expected,” an IMD official said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures Sunday are expected to hover between 33 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively, the official added.
