Kolkata, Nov 21 (IANS) Second seed Ayumi Morita of Japan and unheralded Romanian Elora Dabija carved out emphatic straight set wins Friday to set up a title clash at the Gujarat NRE Coke $50,000 ITF Women’s Challenger tennis tournament here.Morita displayed her customary clinical precision in the semi-final to halt the dream run of qualifier Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia 6-1,6-3 in exactly an hour.
The 26-minute first set saw Jovanovski save only third game.
The second set ran in the same pattern, as Jovanovski dropped serve in the second and fourth games, but she broke Morita in the seventh to reduce the gap. However, Morita closed the set to cruise into the final.
