Monica and Pooja settle for bronze at China Open boxing
June 2nd, 2011 - 9:26 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 2 (IANS) India’s Monica Saun (60kg) and Pooja Rani (75kg) Thursday settled for a bronze each at the China Open boxing championships in Guiyang, China.
Monica lost her semi-final bout 8-24 to Chinese Dong Cheng, an Asian Games gold medallist and silver medallist at the 2010 AIBA world championships.
Pooja, who won a silver medal at the recently concluded Arafura Games in Australia, went down 2-16 to Ning Yuyu of Guizhou.
Both the boxers will take home a cash award of $1,000 for their bronze medal finish.
