New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Thursday wished speedy recovery to Congress president Sonia Gandhi who underwent surgery abroad.
“Have come to know through media about Mrs. Sonia Gandhi’s surgery. I pray for her speedy recovery & good health,” Modi tweeted.
The Congress party said that Gandhi was in “satisfactory” condition after undergoing surgery, adding she will be out of India for two-three weeks.
Congress chief spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi, however, did not reveal in which country Gandhi, 64, is being treated. Party sources said she was in the US for an “abdominal-related ailment”.
She has formed a four-member group, including son and general secretary Rahul Gandhi, to look after party matters in her absence, Dwivedi added.
The others are Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Dwivedi and her political secretary Ahmed Patel.
