Moderate quake in Himachal, Punjab

Shimla, March 14 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale Sunday struck Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, an official said here.
“An earthquake of moderate intensity hit Himachal Pradesh and Punjab at 12.23 p.m. The tremors were felt for a few seconds only. There is no report of any loss of life and damage to property,” meteorological office director Manmohan Singh told IANS.
He said the tremors of the quake were felt in towns on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
“The epicentre was at latitude 31.65 degrees north and longitude 76.1 degrees east,” he said.
Himachal Pradesh was hit by quakes of moderate intensity Sep 21 and July 17 last year.
