New Delhi, Dec 5 (IANS) A mock security drill was conducted Friday at a five-star hotel in Connaught Place, the capital’s commercial hub, to test the response of the staff and security personnel in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks. The drill was carried out at the InterContinental Hotel at Barakhamba Road by making a hoax call, a police officer said. Fire fighters, policemen and a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot.

“The response times of the hotel staff and others are being analysed,” the official added.

The drill was carried out in view of the terror attacks on Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel and the Oberoi Trident Hotel.

The police have advised hotel managements in Delhi to step up security and allow only those with prior bookings to enter its premises.
