Missing Russian helicopter found
October 9th, 2011 - 9:12 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Oct 9 (IANS/RIA Novosti) An Mi-8 helicopter that went missing in Russia’s Trans-Baikal area Sunday has been found with all seven people aboard alive, the emergencies ministry said.
“All the crew members and passengers are alive,” a spokesperson said, adding that over 110 rescuers and 15 units of special equipment had been involved in the rescue operation.
The chopper, from the Siberian branch of emergencies ministry, was flying over forests in the south of the region.
