Minsk Metro station blast toll rises to 13
April 15th, 2011 - 4:12 pm ICT by IANSMinsk, April 15 (IANS/RIA Novosti) The toll in the bomb explosion in a Minsk Metro station has reached 13, the Belarusian health ministry said Friday.
A radio-controlled explosive device was detonated at the Oktyabrskaya Metro station, one of the city’s busiest, at rush hour Monday evening, killing 12 people and injuring over 190. Police have already detained five suspects in terrorist bombing.
“Another victim of the terrorist attack in the Minsk Metro died last night in the hospital,” a ministry spokesman said.
According to the ministry, 161 people injured in the blast remain in hospitals, with 21 of them listed in serious condition.
