New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) A juvenile was arrested Thursday for breaking into the house of Harish Khare, media adviser to Prime Minster Manmohan Singh, and speeding away with his car, laptop and mobile phone, police said.
The minor was arrested from Nehru Vihar area of north Delhi, a police officer said. Two of his accomplices are still on the run.
Khare’s wife Renana told the police Wednesday that when she woke up that morning, she found the door of the balcony open and one laptop, one Blackberry mobile phone and keys of the car missing from their house in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area.
“The car which was parked in the compound was also missing,” said the officer.
Scanning the footage from a CCTV installed in a bank near the home, the police zeroed in on three people.
During interrogation, the minor told the police that he and another juvenile were part of a gang of a middle-aged man, Rohit.
While the car was recovered from his possession, the laptop and mobile phone are with his absconding accomplices, the officer added.
