Minister takes stock of Maoist situation in Jharkhand
April 13th, 2011 - 8:37 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, April 13 (IANS) Minister of State for Home Gurudas Kamat Wednesday took stock of the Maoist situation in Jharkhand.
Kamat, who arrived here Wednesday morning, visited West Singhbhum and Bokaro districts.
Later, he met Chief Minister Arjun Munda in the state capital. According to government sources, the meeting focused on the ongoing Maoist operation and development work in the state.
“There is need to strengthen the mobile network system in the state. The central government would extend all possible help to the state to fight the Maoist menace in the state,” Kamat told reporters.
The minister said that alternative arrangements would be made for the stay of security forces and schools would not be used by the purpose.
He also lauded the work of the Central Reserve of Police Force (CRPF) in the Maoist-affected areas of the country.
