Minimum temperature rises in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, March 1 (IANS) The minimum temperature in mid-level hills of Himachal Pradesh rose appreciably, the meteorological office here said Sunday.
The state’s popular tourist spot - and capital - Shimla recorded a minimum of 5 degrees Celsius in comparison to 3.3 degrees Saturday.

The minimum temperature at Sundernagar was 6 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees at Bhuntar, 7.7 degrees at Dharamsala and 7.1 degrees at Mandi, the meteorological office said.

However, higher reaches of the Himalayas in the state remained under the grip of cold wave.

While Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, was the coldest place in the state with a minimum of minus 8.9 degrees Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a minimum of minus 2.9 degrees.
