Mini-bus with 25 people falls in Jammu river, two escape
July 23rd, 2010 - 8:56 pm ICT by IANSJammu, July 23 (IANS) A mini-bus, carrying over 25 passengers, fell into a river in Jammu and Kashmir’s mountainous district of Kishtwar Friday and only two people managed to escape, police said.
The mini-bus skidded off the road and rolled down into river Chenab at Hast in Kishtwar, about 240 km from here.
“Two passengers, who were sitting on the rooftop of the mini-bus, jumped and survived. They said there were more than 25 passengers inside the vehicle,” a police officer said.
Rescue operations have been launched. No one has been rescued so far, the police officer said.
