Militants attack police, seize weapons
March 7th, 2011 - 9:34 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, March 7 (IANS) Suspected militants Monday attacked two policemen in a market and fled with their rifles in a Jammu and Kashmir village, police said.
The constables came under attack in Yaripora village with men armed with “sharp weapons”, a police officer told IANS. The village, in Kulgam district, is about 60 km from here.
“After injuring the policemen, the attackers ran away with two service rifles,” he said. Paramilitary forces were rushed to the area to launch a hunt for the militants.
