Mild tremors in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, March 9 (IANS) Parts of north Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch experienced mild tremors at 4.45 p.m. Sunday. The epicentre of the tremors was Chobari village, near Bachau town in Kutch. The quake was of magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale and lasted for 15 seconds.

The tremors were also felt in Ahmedabad. Some people in high-rise buildings in Vastrapur area in the city panicked and rushed out.

When contacted, fire chief F.M. Dastoor told IANS that it was only a mild quake and there was no loss of lives or damage buildings. There was no cause for worry, he added.
