Mild quake in parts of Kerala (Lead, Changing dateline)
July 26th, 2011 - 5:59 pm ICT by IANSThiruvananthapuram, July 26 (IANS) A mild tremor measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale Tuesday hit Idukki and parts of Kottayam district of Kerala.
The quake was also reported near the Mullaperiyar dam, over which Kerala and Tamil Nadu are at loggerheads.
An Idukki resident said the tremors were felt around 1 p.m. A second quake followed at 2.14 p.m.
Barring a few window panes which cracked, there were no reports of any losses.
