Metro employee commits suicide
February 2nd, 2012 - 7:11 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS) A 26-year-old Delhi Metro employee allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the staff quarters at Mundka Metro station, police said Thursday.
Sunil was working as a supervisor with Delhi Metro. He was found hanging around 9.58 a.m. Thursday when his father reached the staff quarters.
Sunil, a resident of Dwarka Sector-1, had been working as a supervisor with Delhi Metro for one-and-half years and though allotted staff quarters at Mundka would return to Dwarka at the end of his duty.
“When he did not return home last night, his father came in the morning to the Mundka Metro site and found him hanging in the staff quarters,” said a senior police official.
During investigation, it was found that six months ago Sunil’s wife had eloped with a man and since then he had been depressed. Police said it could be the reason for his taking this extreme step as no suicide note was recovered from his possession.
