Messi match: Two arrested for black marketing tickets
August 30th, 2011 - 10:07 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Aug 30 (IANS) Two authorised ticket sellers of the Sep 2 FIFA official international friendly match between Argentina and Venezuela were arrested Tuesday for black marketing tickets from the counter itself, police said.
According to police sources, Indrajit Das and Bijoy Mahato were nabbed from the official ticket outlet at Phoolbagan in northeast Kolkata following complains that they were hawking tickets at a premium.
They were selling tickets of Rs.1,500 denomination at Rs.1,720.
Match promoter Celebrity Management Group (CMG), however, denied any role in the matter.
“We have given total responsibility for ticket distribution to Big Tree Entertainment. Moreover, complaints have been received from only this counter out of 20 counters of the city,” said Bhaswar Goswami, executive director, CMG.
