Messi match broadcast rights sold to 152 countries: Organisers
August 19th, 2011 - 11:33 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Aug 19 (IANS) The first FIFA official friendly soccer match in cricket-crazy India between Argentina and Venezuela Sept 2 could turn out to be the most televised sports event in India as the organisers Friday claimed to have sold broadcast rights to 152 countries.
“The broadcast rights have been sold to 152 countries. No cricket match has been watched in so many countries,” said organiser Celebrity Management Group executive director Bhaswar Goswami.
In India the match will be shown live by ESPN while Bengali news channel Channel 10 will be the official channel partners showing every bit of the visit of Lionel Messi and other Argentine stars.
Goswami said 24,000 tickets have already been sold.
The tickets are priced at Rs.700, Rs.1,000, Rs.1,550, Rs.1,860, Rs.2,060, Rs.2,470, Rs. 2,570, Rs.3,590 and Rs.5,120.
“We have kept some tickets of Rs 250, Rs 350 and Rs 450 denominations for nursery league players,” he said.
