Mentally challenged teen raped in Kashmir
September 9th, 2011 - 5:13 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, Sep 9 (IANS) A mentally challenged 16-year-old girl was raped in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Friday, police said. The accused has been arrested.
The 38-year-old man allegedly picked the girl from a paddy field and took her to a nearby spring in Nagbal area, 14 km from summer capital Srinagar, and raped her.
The incident triggered protests in the area, with people demanding death for the man.
