Men barge into councillor’s home, fire at children
January 1st, 2011 - 11:38 pm ICT by IANSBhiwani (Haryana), Jan 1 (IANS) Two unidentified men Saturday forcibly entered the house of a newly-elected municipal councillor here and opened fire at his two minor children, including a girl, the police said.According to the police, the miscreants, who had covered their faces, entered the house of Maman Chand, councillor from ward number 22, in Halu Mohalla area here.
“They were looking for Maman Chand, who had gone to Gurgaon. Maman’s wife brought out her husband’s revolver in self defence, but the men snatched the weapon and opened fire at two minor children,” a police officer said.
“The children sustained bullet injuries on their arms and are admitted to PGIMS (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Science) in Rohtak. They are now out of danger. We have registered a case and started investigation,” he added.
